Oh shit it's a hamster, GET IN THE CAR
Bad news! You've been kidnapped by aliens to a very randomly planned city inside a moon in a galaxy far far away. The aliens have done this for the lulz. And research. But mostly lulz. Lots of bad and strange things happen, as the collection of weirdo citizens will no doubt tell you. The good news is this is a quiet day with absolutely no horrors, so grab your tablet and get to exploring and/or trolling.
Aww yiss open-to-all-and-any test drive meme. Have some rules, such as they are:
1. Tag in with a character. Any character. Any medium. One you've already apped, one you're thinking of apping, one you'll never app, go wild.
2. That character has either a) just arrived in Taxon or b) has been stuck in the city for some time. Totally up to you.
3. You do not have to be a member of Taxon to participate. All are welcome to pop on in and be enabled!
4. App these fabulous people :D

"And yet, you seem reasonably sane." He said it slowly, thoughtfully, trying to figure out how their alien captors had managed that. Lord knows, he'd tried to find a way to accomplish something similar.

Her voice turned hard at the last part, cold at the mention, even indirectly, of the Cabal. She hated them and everything they stood for.
"And for the record, yes, I've still got the other."
The teleporting, she meant. It was still active.

The last was quieter, not actually directed at her. Being unable to find a way of stopping her without killing her was one failure he very much regretted, if only because of the pain it had caused her mother.
The reminder drew him out of his thoughts. "Let's hope you use it more wisely than your father."

It had been painful, but it seemed pain had been the only thing capable of truly snapping Ashley back to herself.
"Can we not call him that?" she grumbled with a roll of her eyes. "Baldy's a much better name."
She'd been aware of his efforts in stopping her and how he'd been unable to truly hurt her - both of which meant a great deal to her - but she could still recall her first two meetings with him, neither of which had gone particularly well. She wasn't sure what to think of John Druitt as a person, but she knew she still hadn't dealt with him being her father. At least not the crazy side of him.

He wasn't any more fond of John than she was, for different reasons, but that didn't stop him from pushing.
"Tall, bald, and murderous, then. But you can hardly deny his part in your genetics, especially now. Those killer instincts aren't only your mother's."
no subject
She really didn't want to talk about John, her father. She still had to figure out how she really felt about him, but the comparison still pissed her off and the glare on her face said as much.

"The guy tried to kill me! Granted, he was helping mom stop me and the Cabal last time I saw him - which, I know you were involved in, too, and thanks for that, by the way - but that doesn't mean I'm just going to forget what he did."
And that went for Tesla, too. She wouldn't just forget that he'd tried to kill her mother. She might be able to look past it at the moment, but she was still hesitant to just trust him.

"He has his moments."
He doesn't truly expect her to, and if he's honest, it's probably a wise judgment. His work has a habit of making him blind to everything else, even friendship.
no subject
Mostly because the topic of her biological father is too complex and annoying for her to deal with right now.

"I think it's a crackshot." Well, at least she's honest. "Glitches everywhere messing with your mind, weird people running around. Being alive again. It's like some really bad attempt at a horror movie mixed with family tv."

He really doesn't. Unfortunately for him, Ashley's not in the mood to explain.
"The Sanctuary was that way up until Mom left. My new place is this way. There's a lot more to the city but somehow I don't think you want me teleporting you everywhere."
That may just be a trollface grin she's giving him, as she's quite tempted to do it anyway. Just because she can.

"I'll pass."
no subject
"So, because you're hesitant to take the most efficient way: walking or the tram system?"
no subject
"We'll walk."
Not a fan of public transport, either.

"Keep the questions coming. I'm no good as a tour guide."

"Just one... minute..."
Her pace picks up momentarily and soon she's rounding a corner of a building nearby and there's the hatch she was looking for. It looks a bit like a vending machine from Earth.
"You want wine? Bracelet goes here-" She points it out. "-you think of exactly what you want, and see what happens."

She rolls her eyes in response and walks up to it to demonstrate, pressing her braceleted wrist against the scanner. A few moments later, a bottle of coke appears in the hatch, which she picks up and cracks open to sip from.
"Really simple."
no subject
He examines the wine bottle carefully, finally deeming it acceptable.
"Much better."
