THE TAXON SOUNDTRACK

First: behold your mods -

NOW: It's been nearly a year since we did this one so let's kick it:
1. Tag in with your character(s)!
2. If you have a theme song (or playlist or...entire BAND or whatever) for them, post it!
3. If you've got songs you associate with other characters, comment to them with your suggestions!
4. Lyrics, downloads, and YouTube links are awesome!
5. Shippy, situational, and just general-Taxon songs are encouraged as well!

BLACK PARADE!!!!!!! ehehehe i might've just clapped my hands *predictable*

Fitz Kreiner

[identity profile] rereremembered.livejournal.com 2011-12-16 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
He was someone else up there, playing and crooning with his eyes closed. He mattered, to this thirty-strong crowd, if only for the moment.
Shocking no one I am incredibly remiss with Fitz so he doens't have a proper playlist. In place of that:

"The Boxer" - Simon and Garfunkel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdKjEHfHINQ), lyrics from which I use on his wiki page
"The Headphonist" - Kinky feat. Cake (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4QoL7R91ZE) because it is pure Fitz music-obsessed philosophical fixation
"Twnetieth Century Boy" - T. Rex (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ylww2dOW7fg), although glam rock is after his time. you know. IF THE SHOE FITS.
"Is It Any Wonder?" - Keane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVe_KVzBFOo&ob=av2e)
And this, which sums him up "Shuffle Your Feet" - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpY8KM4F4LE)
Time won't save our souls
Time won't save our souls
Time won't save my soul... no
When everything is going down
Nothing seem to feel same
No one seem to know my name
No one seem to go my way
But who knows if I'll see you again
But who knows if I'll see you again

I need more for him, too. Disappointingly.

Party?

Obviously Party Poison (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT6jWE7jPog) by My Chemical Romance, a song pretty much dedicated to him. "Hide your eyes I'm gonna shine tonight / Sub-atomic never get the best of me / Ain't no DJ gonna save my soul / I sold it long ago for Rock 'n' Roll / Drop the needle when the tape deck blows / I gotta shout this out so everybody knows"

But for my headcanon? It's actually Kennedy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S99AukhkgW4) by Kill Hannah.

"I wanna be a Kennedy
I wanna be a big heartbreaker
Live fast and for real
And you can follow it in the papers

I wanna be a Kennedy
I wanna shake hands with heroes
And kiss the girls of centerfolds on the tongue
And die young

I'll be brave tonight
Either live or die
I'll be brave tonight
Standing tall and bright"

I've thought a lot about this, OK....

[identity profile] colacherri.livejournal.com 2011-12-16 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay I don't care if it's 30 seconds long, this is pretty much Cherri in a nutshell: J (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO--fKgmp0o) by Mindless Self Indulgence. Doesn't help he's actually singing but whatever.

We writin' in pink with the walls
And the balls and the fetus
And the pink in the walls
And the bike and the fetus
And the pink in the walls
With the stripes and the pedals
Got the bike wall never catch on

BUT for music video and lyrics it's gotta be Shut Me Up by the same band.

Including but not limited to Cherri's hair and fashions sense on display!

Working Man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h59mDlBSt7o) by Rush is Dwight's. It's pretty much him personified with all the shit he puts up with in Haven.

Plus I can see Rush being the SOUNDTRACK TO HIS LIFE, especially in afghanistan. idk man idk.
ownlittleprison: (slightly dopey gent)

Not really a playlist, as much as songs that are stuck in Mick's head from childhood and onward

[personal profile] ownlittleprison 2011-12-18 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
1920's-30's,

So basically everything off that channel, really. >_> Maybe Mick doesn't remember all the songs, but he remembers the sound, and can sometimes feel nostalgic for it.

1940's

This is just...one of those songs that will always be firmly stuck in Mick's heart and soul. Though it had a bigger impact in the UK and to British troops, it struck a chord in him (and his, I suspect, British roots). It's sentimental, sure, but also poignant and plain sad.

Also, Christina Aguilera's Candyman is rubbish, says the old fogie. >_> (I kinda like it)

Glenn Miller and his band. Still one of my personal faves since I was a kid, and I think Mick would've appreciated the laidback cool of their sound.

Glenn Miller, Doris Day, Nat King Cole, and a whole bunch of others too.

...more to come later. Stay tuned, and enjoy the old school classics.
ownlittleprison: (but the melody lingers on)

50's and 60's

[personal profile] ownlittleprison 2011-12-18 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes, the good ol' fifties. No more war, everyone needs to pick themselves up and look to a brighter future, and I headcanon that Mick worked a variety of jobs trying to figure out what he wanted out of life - and one of them was playing guitar in a proper, neat little band. With Hawaii print shirts and slicked back hair and all.

Here, a taste of the kind of music he could've been playing, if his host/paying customer had a bit of impropriety in them (*koff*Coraline*koff*).

(And isn't Chuck Berry just the cutest guy ever with that smile? XD)

...and the sixties'll just have to wait, because I can't find a good enough Best Of vid. >_> But...everything by the Beatles, Pink Floyd, the Doors, Byrds, Kinks, Zombies, and a whole array of Britpop-and-rock what changed the world of music as Mick knew it.
hasaheart: (family is the most important thing)

Again, not so much a playlist, but...tunes that make me think of Cain >_>

[personal profile] hasaheart 2011-12-18 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
For whatever reason, this is SUCH a Cain song for me (albeit a young!Cain one). Just listen, enjoy, and then tell me I'm wrong. I dare you. :P

For this one, I...really don't know what this's got to do with him, but well, here you have it. Maybe you can tell me.

Mourning. Loved ones lost, facing one's own mortality, coping with death and thinking of those left behind. John Dowland, Dido's Lament from Dido and Aeneas. No embedding this time, unfortunately.

Sort of my Cain+Adora theme, this one. Rammstein's Ohne Dich ("Without You") Here with handy translations.

That's all for now. Maybe more later. <3

All the Beatles' songs ever.
Get what you came for - Jake Mann + The Upper Hand
Watch Me Fall Apart - Hard-Fi
The Outsider - A Perfect Circle [This one is a bit more specific as Charles toward Erik.
New Born - Muse
Beautiful Despair - Comet Gain

I may put more as I think of them. I never quite kept a list.

[identity profile] smecker.livejournal.com 2011-12-21 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
oh oh oh I wanna play (especially since I found my old ipod recently)

Paul~ all my ridiculously emo songs for him oh god

The Devics - If We Cannot See (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_kMlWNfBCQ)
you were born with a heart that can never be filled
and a head like snow that can never be still
there are streets paved in gold that shine so bright
that you force yourself to look away

(It's mostly just that verse that I really dig for Paul but hey)

Joan Osborne - Crazy Baby (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ebu9tkSrJ9g)
And they look at you like they don't speak your language
And you're living at the bottom of a well
And you've swallowed all the awful bloody secrets
You can't tell

(Obligatory Paul angsting-over-Connor-and-Murphy song)

Rob Dougan - I'm Not Driving Anymore (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpQ4OWt3I6U)
You came right out of nowhere
Eyes wide and terrified
And I can't put my brakes on
I can't swerve to save your life 'cause then I'll lose control
And I can't choose
I'm not driving anymore
I can't keep up with you

(second obligatory Paul angsting, post-the-end-of-the-movie)

Aberdeen City - God is Going to Get Sick of Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYXGmiVOBSo)
A bible in one hand, he makes decisions
The lease is up
Ordered his gun and it's done and it's done and done

Janis Ian Roseanne - God & the FBI (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9keqToTju3U) [meh clip but only one I can find]
(just for kicks)

So late! Ah well :)

I've tended to lean towards a couple of DeVotchKa songs for her, at least for parts of her more recent AU-ness:
Queen of the Surface Streets (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gh-qYt1QCvM&ob=av3e)
How It Ends (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pfi1UQ_PKQI) (which honestly breaks my heart regardless - I love this song.)

Ithaka (http://grooveshark.com/s/Ithaka/2NLyj9?src=5) by Deb Talan.
Daring Lousy Guy (http://grooveshark.com/s/Daring+Lousy+Guy/3E5kSk?src=5), by Shivaree.

Kiss with a Fist (http://grooveshark.com/s/Kiss+With+A+Fist/3fNw8p?src=5), Florence + the Machine. Always makes me think of her and Spike.

I am curious what other folks would suggest.
