HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, TAXON!

On April 15, 2009, Taxon officially opened its doors. A lot has happened since then, we've grown and changed and shifted, there's an old guard and a new evolution and all of it is marvelous. This post is to mark the occasion, to have a gif party, to get re-acquainted and to connect with one another. Let's celebrate the past and look to the future, Year Four of the Taxon project starts...now!
IN THIS POST: gifs, reminiscing, glitter, plotting, love meme-style bibbling, questions, answers, friending on various social media, and basically a giant cuddle pile. ICly, the aliens are giving everyone jet packs and there will be a post for that soon enough. For now? I love everyone in this bar/game/city/habitrail ♥

Mmmmm Rutger Hauer. Yes, LadyHawke is also one of my favourites. French/European legend + synth soundtrack and a tiny baby-faced sidekick named Mouse. How could you go wrong with that? :D

Yuss, Sweden. Home of Santa and Father Frost both (but shhh, don't tell anyone), and IKEA and ACNE and...a bunch of other stuff no one's ever heard about.

All three of the leads in that movie had a very strong impact on a young me. Ahhh swoon.

My family comes from Finland before the States, so I have a bit more of the knowledge when it comes to that area of the world but not nearly as much as I would like.

Me too, me too. But especially Mr Hauer. I am and shall forever be ruined by all the strangely attractive blond, not-very-buff guys with blue eyes who almost (almost) invariably played villains.

And Mr Curry, of course. Hiding behind a metric tonne of make up and prosthetics (and glitter!).

Oooh, Finland :D Two of my best friends are Finnish, one born over there, one not.

I had my first crush on Etienne of Navarre. Then as I grew up, I came to realize that I would rather /be/ him - I have a weakness for playing Paladins of all stripes where and when I can.

Heh. Tim Curry is just ridiculously sexy in the strangest and best of ways.

Hoooray!

Oh, wow. That's a good first crush and role model of sorts. My first crush was Maleficent from Disney's Sleeping Beauty, simply because she was so deliciously evil (and could transform herself into a DRAGON). XD Yeah. My first more-like-an-actual crush was Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in that old Robin Hood flick with Kevin Costner (back when he was still making kinda good movies) and Morgan Freeman. Not entirely because he played a villain, but because he was just plain delicious and eloquent and that voice.

I still have a thing for villains. XD But you really can't tell from the characters I play.

Maleficent is pure awesome. Did you hear about the live action movie that is coming from her POV? Angeline Jolie is going to get it made by sheer willpower, I swear.

Alan Rickman.... Dear Lord, that man's voice. It is just unreal, how fantastic that is. I hear you and I totally understand. Yes, yes.

Paladins and assassins, for me. I don't know why on the assassin side but there it is.
