On April 15, 2009, Taxon officially opened its doors. A lot has happened since then, we've grown and changed and shifted, there's an old guard and a new evolution and all of it is marvelous. This post is to mark the occasion, to have a gif party, to get re-acquainted and to connect with one another. Let's celebrate the past and look to the future, Year Four of the Taxon project starts...now!

Hello, I'm Keri. I'm Glitch-mun, I'm senior mod and I can be found on plurk @ keriseda and on tumblr at buttonspushingthemselves and my AIM is mirzath (which is a holdover from my ancient Dragonriders of Pern RPG days). I'm over 30, I live in New Jersey a stone's throw from Manhattan, and I may have an Alan Cumming-related problem.

Funny story: I wasn't here for day one (Emma was though!), I was a good six months late to the party. I did start thinking about apping early on thought, June 2009 with this nutjob and how different would it all have been had I done that? But I waited and instead there was Glitch and then Fitz and then Fitz again (he's due back come summer) and...wow. I still have no idea how I ended up as a mod, but it's been an honor and a pleasure to work with everyone and keep this place going. I go to sleep with it, I wake up with it, it has a place in my heart full to bursting and I am so, so proud of everything.

I do want to tell you how much I adore your Glitch. He is brilliantly played and positively adorable. I'm so glad I found Taxon and you guys. I had some bad issues with a game years ago and I basically hid from actual games. I'm so glad I didn't let my fear keep me from Taxon. You guys are great.

I'm Sofie, sometimes called Sochan, often called Sofo at least in Taxon. It's a thing. I'm the happy go lucky, get excited over everything type mod who lives in a timezone hardly anyone else does (that's GMT +1, guys). I'm almost always on AIM as sakuraofrureo, and even if I'm not due to my computer's energy saving scheme which involves cutting off my net access (idek), I can receive offline IMs. If you prefer, just send me an e-mail or a message via DW. It's all good.

I'm a total utter geek and a bit of a mental sponge, in that I soak up all kinds of information, useful and not-so-useful (including as it just so happens, what to do when you get a random cut in the kitchen. Thumb's almost healed up now, btw. Not that it was ever too bad to begin with).

I live in Sweden. I have a dog who's an utter darling except when he's cranky. I also collect fandoms that hardly anyone else has ever heard of (or where the fanbase is full of raving bitch fights between ship camps and I stay the heck outta those).

I first joined here with Gump, a faun/Pan/leader-of-the-fae type character from one of my favourite fantasy flicks from my childhood (and I know, this dates me :P), Legend.

I'm prone to run-on sentences when typing OOC, know not to use them in narrative (too much), and am a bit obsessed with languages. I love talking to players old and new, being a mod is kickass in all sorts of ways, especially when I get asked all these lovely questions that I've no clue how to answer. XD I mean it. Those questions mean either that I get to learn something about Taxon that I previously hadn't thought of, or that it's a gap that needs to be filled. Either way, it's lovely.

What else? What else? Oh! I've been here for almost two years as a player! :D I joined right in the middle of June 2010! Gump didn't work out, but Cain did, and I'm just so pleased with his one and a half year in Taxon.

It's been great, guys. Here's to many more years of random alien abductions.

And then you apped, and I squealed for three days straight. Aaaaand then you intro'd and you ticked all my Josef boxes and I went eeeeee every time I saw a new tag in my inbox. The End.

Also hi, I'm Steph and happy anniversary Taxon! This is the only game I've ever played in, and I remember wayyy back when in, like, 2009, I stalked Taxon for a while and finally jumped in with Gwen, and then my baby Lafayette Reynolds, and Brooke Davis for a bit, and then bowed out due to school stuff. And now I'm back and comfortable and I'm having so much fun!

THEY WILL BE THE BEST JET PACKS they will work exactly like the magcial scifi jet packs we've been longing for since the fifties. The aliens put a lot fo research into this and believe it will be the one thing that will make everyone happy forever.

Well, I have received a profusion of love since I first arrived here, for both Mr Unlovable himself, the Fearless Leader and more recently my kicked puppy werewolf, Remus.

I was so leery about coming here. I had a terrible experience in a game, then a couple of jerk players in casual RP and swore off it all forever until I was convinced about the awesomeness of this place and decided to app and give it a shot.

I'm glad I did. Even if it can be terribly slow, it's nice to not have people hounding for comments and it's nice to have a lot of OOC chat with people.

I love you guys, even though I don't have an icon for that, because I am icon lazy in the extreme. So have Scott being a bit sexy.

Let me count the ways I love you, people of Taxon.

I have been here since the day the game opened - I'm still not sure how that happened, to be honest - and, for all the ups and downs and occasional seismic shifts, this game remains my internet home. I'm so happy to share it with you all. Every plot, from the serious to the ridiculous, is brilliant. Every character is a delight. Every one of you puts real thought and effort into your tags and it definitely shows.

Thank you for the last three years. I'm looking forward to everything that the future holds.

As usual the last few months, I am supah-late to the party cuz of fail.


I am dien, the ghost!mod because nobody ever sees me. I am not really an anti-social lurker, I've just been wrestling with burnout with my pups lately BUT I'm not going anywhere so this too shall pass. ;)

I just want to say that it's fabulous all the influx of new blood we're having lately-- I've been crap at welcoming y'all and interacting with y'all, but I'm really really happy to have each and every one of you and am just putting that out here in case anyone sees this post a week later. ;)
