Who gave Starrah comm permission?

[ HEADCANON MEME ]

1. Comment with a list of your characters.
2. Comment around to other people, asking headcanon-y questions about their characters. "What cartoons do they watch on Saturday mornings?" "What's their earliest childhood memory?" Or even the ever-popular "Boxers or briefs?"
3. Serious, crack, or random questions are all okay! Ask one or ask several!
4. Answer those questions with your personal headcanon. TL;DR everywhere.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 FOREVER.
6. Learn fun and interesting things about people's characters that you wish you could use as blackmail!

What was/is her relationship with her parents like?

very, very complicated. she loved them, but part of her resents them for committing her sister isabel when she told them about the things she was seeing. seeing them put her through treatments and force her to take medications instead of listening to her terrified angela enough to deny seeing the same things to the point of suppressing them, which is something she's always felt guilty about. as they got older and her parents periodically had to send isabel back to the mental ward, there were times where she got into screaming fights with them over the types of therapy they were trying on her, but she also felt a lot of pressure to be an obedient and respectful daughter, the model student and picture perfect good girl, because their other daughter was so far gone. (this pressure was mostly put on by herself - she hated seeing her mother and father so torn up over what they had to do to isabel.)

she was closer with her mother than her father, and when her mother got sick with lymphoma she did what she could to help, which included taking over taking care of isabel (meaning she would have to be the one to commit her when needed now). her father died of a heart attack shortly after and she was totally unprepared for it. it took her a long time to stop resenting them and forgive them, and she knows by now that they were only doing what they thought was right for her sister.

tl;dr: she loved them very much, but has issues.
